Aloo Tikki Burger is a patty sandwiched in a bun with lots of salads and spreads. This particular recipe has a very crunchy patty which is very easy and simple to make. Aloo tikki burger is famous street food and we all know it is a kids’ friendly recipe. Ever since I have been making burger using this quick recipe for aloo tikki burger, we have almost stopped buying it from the food corners or at the restaurants. Aloo Tikki Burger calls for
Burger buns: I have used store bought buns. You can take whole wheat buns or homemade buns. Ensure that buns should be fresh.
Patty for burger: A very simple and easy but superbly crunchy and crispy patty is made using boiled potatoes. Well I have not added any vegetables in the patty because this is my on the go burger recipe, however you may add peas, sweet corn kernels, cabbage, carrot etc.
Other ingredients: Simple salad including cucumber, tomatoes have been used. And for the spreads I have used tomato ketch up and green chutney. There is a perfect green chutney recipe on the blog which has the consistency and texture as that of a spread. I have used that one for the burgers.
1. Take a mixer jar and add 100g poha(flattened rice).
2. Grind it coarsely as shown in the picture.
3. Take a mixing bowl, add ground poha, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp chaat masala, coriander leaves, 8 medium size boiled potatoes, 1 tsp grated ginger and salt to taste.
4. Mix all ingredients.
5. Take a portion of the mixture and roll and press it.
6. Heat oil in a pan.
7. Place the patties. Fry them on medium flame.
8. Flip and cook from the other side too. Cook till they are golden brown from both the sides.
9. Put patties on a paper towel to remove the extra oil.
1. Heat a pan and apply butter on it.
2. Cut the burger bun from the centre. Roast it on tawa.
3. Apply green chutney on one part of burger bun and on another part apply ketchup.
4. Place cucumber and tomatoes slice on one part of a burger bun.
5. Sprinkle chaat masala on cucumber and tomatoes slice.
6. Place patty on burger bun as shown the in photo.
7. Cover it with the other half of bun.
8. Bon appetit – Serve aloo tikki burger with fries and soft drink of your choice.
