Icing sugar is the finest form of sugar. It is used for frosting the cakes, icing the cookies etc. Icing sugar is also known as confectioner’s sugar. It is different from powdered sugar in terms of fineness. Cornstarch is added to make icing sugar. It prevents the icing sugar from caking and crumbling. 1. Grind sugar and cornstarch : Take 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 tbsp cornstarch in a blender jar or coffee grinder. Grind the two till you get a fine powder. This will take 5-6 minutes. Stir it after every 2 minutes so each and every grain is well powdered.
2. Sieve icing sugar : Pass icing sugar through a sieve and store in an airtight container.
