Watermelon: Well, this looks funny, because it is so obvious that we need watermelons to make juice. Best quality of watermelons should be used. Having said that, personally if the watermelon is good, I like to eat it. After all, the benefits of eating watermelon are well known. But yeah when it is not crunchy enough or not sweet enough, or to take a break from regularly eating watermelon, I make watermelon juice.
Mint leaves: A slight kick of mint works very well for the watermelon juice recipe. You can also add in a few drops of lemon juice. Likewise, a slight hint of black salt and black pepper powder too will work for this recipe.
Sugar: Sugar in watermelon juice is a very personal choice. And it also depends on the sweetness of the fruit, watermelon. If your fruit isn’t sweet enough and you want your juice to be sweet enough, add in sugar in the juice.
There are no juice recipes on the blog yet, although I have few juice recipes such as pomegranate juice, beetroot juice, etc in the archives, I have yet to put them here. There is another very healthy watermelon recipe which is the watermelon salad. However, you will like our collection of milkshake recipes.
Serve it chilled to an exhausted person :D.
1.This recipe makes 4-5 glasses of watermelon juice.
2.I could have easily worked this recipe with a blender but my 4 years old walked in and wanted to help me with the watermelon juice and I believe if the kids are involved in the making, they feel associated with the dish or drink and they indulge into it. Now back to the recipe. In a blender jar add 4-5 cups of watermelon pieces.
3.Next goes in a handful of mint leaves. If the hands are so tiny, add a few handfuls of mint leaves :D.
4.If adding sugar, add it here as per taste. Taste the watermelon after cutting. You would come to know if it is sweet or not and whether you need to add sugar or not?
5.Blend well.
6.Pass the juice through a strainer. This, again is an optional step. You need not strain the juice. Just pour in the glasses and stir on and off and drink.
7.Add few ice cubes in a glass.
8.Pour in the juice. Serve cold. Bon appétit.
