What is Tawa Paneer Masala?

Easy, simple and quick paneer recipe which is flavorful cause of the pav bhaji masala; capsicum adding the required sharpness, making up for a perfect side dish for a veggie meal! Tawa paneer masala is different from other paneer recipes such as paneer butter masala or shahi paneer. These paneer recipes have little sweetness. Also, tawa paneer, as the name suggests is prepared on a tawa/skillet. It can be served with tawa chapati or simple parathas.

Let’s talk about the ingredients for Tawa Paneer Masala:

Tawa paneer, unlike the other paneer recipes, is a quick dinner recipe. What is interesting about the recipe is that it is prepared on a skillet instead of a pan, just like tawa pulao recipe. This fastens the process of cooking. It calls for

Paneer: A paneer recipe is as good as the paneer. If your paneer is chewy or hard, even the best of recipes can’t give you good results. I like to use homemade paneer for all my paneer recipes.

Capsicum: This is not another vegetable that is used in this paneer recipe. It is crucial for this paneer sabji. It enhances its flavors and gives an awesome kick to the dish. Do not skip it.

Tomato puree: I always have silky and gorgeous red homemade tomato puree in my freezer. Tomato puree gives the recipes much better texture than the tomatoes pureed in the grinder.

Pav bhaji masala: The recipes prepared on tawa have some connection with the pav bhaji masala. Be it the pav bhaji, tawa pulao; recipes which are prepared on the tawa use pav bhaji masala and so does this paneer recipe. I have used the homemade pav bhaji masala because homemade is better.

Hi! I am CA Vini Mehta. A Chartered Accountant by profession, a food blogger by passion! First of all, I would like to thank you for stopping by at Viniscookbook, I hope you have a good time. Here, yo...u will find the recipes which have been tried, at times re-tried in my kitchen and relished on the dining table. I am mother of two kids and the wife of a person with a high and selective taste sense, so basically anything, before finding its place on the blog, has many levels to cross and clear. This journey started a couple of years back. Before that I was making the most usual kind of food. The only experiment used to be asking my mother how to make something new or different☺. Then, one day, I tried a recipe for butter cookies. And they did not get to go in the container as they were over before I could store them. That day I was introduced to the joy of experimenting with recipes. And I loved everything else that followed especially garnishing and photographing food. I am still not well versed with the photography dos and don’ts but I love to experiment and learn, be it photography or cooking. Hope you too enjoy this journey as much as I do☺! Stay healthy, stay tuned!.
