Strawberry Milkshake Recipe

Strawberry Milkshake Recipe

It is the Month of January here in Jaipur. And Jaipur is cold during these days. My husband gets a big big batch of strawberries. I thought of making some compote for my pannacotta. Kids enjoyed the process of hulling the berries. I loved the smell of simmering strawberries. Once the compote was ready we were all too keen to use it. And none had the patience for the pannacotta to set. So we ended up making whipping some strawberries milkshake. I can never forget the first sip of it. There was a burst of flavor of strawberries in my mouth. It was so freshening. This strawberry milkshake recipe is sure to be loved by one and all and the best part is that the compote that you make can stay good for a week in the refrigerator and can be frozen for up to a month. So strawberry milkshake comes really handy!

Strawberry Milkshake Recipe:

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams strawberries (washed and hulled) halved or quartered
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 6 tbsp simple sugar syrup*1/ powdered sugar or as per taste

Method:

  1. In a pan add the strawberries, 1 tbsp of sugar, 2 tbsp water. Let it simmer till it is soft. It will take 5-7 minutes.
  2. Let the compote cool down.
  3. In a blender add in the compote(keep aside 2-3 tbsp of the compote), 4 cups of milk and 6 tbsp of sugar syrup. Blend.
  4. Add ½ tbsp of compote in each of the glass and fill with the prepared strawberry milkshake.

Notes:

  • *1 Hulling strawberry means removing the core and leaf of the berries. I use a straw to do the same.
  • *2 To make a simple sugar syrup mix of 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Cook till the sugar dissolves.
  • You can add heavy cream for a richer milkshake.
  • You can flavor with some vanilla, cinnamon, etc.

Hi! I am CA Vini Mehta. A Chartered Accountant by profession, a food blogger by passion! First of all, I would like to thank you for stopping by at Viniscookbook, I hope you have a good time. Here, yo...u will find the recipes which have been tried, at times re-tried in my kitchen and relished on the dining table. I am mother of two kids and the wife of a person with a high and selective taste sense, so basically anything, before finding its place on the blog, has many levels to cross and clear. This journey started a couple of years back. Before that I was making the most usual kind of food. The only experiment used to be asking my mother how to make something new or different☺. Then, one day, I tried a recipe for butter cookies. And they did not get to go in the container as they were over before I could store them. That day I was introduced to the joy of experimenting with recipes. And I loved everything else that followed especially garnishing and photographing food. I am still not well versed with the photography dos and don’ts but I love to experiment and learn, be it photography or cooking. Hope you too enjoy this journey as much as I do☺! Stay healthy, stay tuned!.
