butter naan calls for
flour: I am using all purpose flour or maida to make butter naan. the best texture of naan is achieved with all purpose flour.
drinking soda: this is the star of the recipe. no other ingredients or leavening agents is required. i am using lehar soda, which is easily available at stores.
1. Prepare a dough : take 2 cups all-purpose flour in a mixing bowl. add salt to taste and mix. gradually add drinking soda and bring the dough together. knead for 10-12 minutes, till smooth and elastic.
2. divide into portions and roll naan : divide dough into portions and roll naan. brush water and sprinkle onion seeds and use a rolling pin to ensure they stick properly. flip naan and brush water on the other side.
3. cook naan : put the naan on a hot pan or skillet from the side where only water has been applied. cook till the bottom is cooked i.e. till bubbles appear. flip the pan. and cook naan from all sides on the flame.
Tips:if naan drops from the pan, again brush some water and stick the naan and cook it
