Pinwheel sandwich is a rolled sandwich. It can be prepared with the stuffing and spread of your choice. However, this is the recipe for a pretty simple, quick and easy pinwheel sandwich which is buttery, tangy with the hint of tomato ketchup. It gets its savory flavor from grated cheese. Pinwheel sandwich is too cute to be disliked by anyone and is a sure hit among-st the kids. Therefore, it makes a good kids’ tiffin recipe too. Pinwheel sandwiches can be prepared for picnics too.
Pinwheel is a combination of bread, spread, and stuffing. In this recipe, I have used
White Bread: Well, I have to confess… I am not very fond of making pinwheel sandwiches, although I love them too much… but I find it difficult to roll the slices and would often end up breaking their ends. I prefer to use fresh and soft white bread. You can definitely try brown or multigrain bread, just pick the fresh one.
Spread: A combination of spreads has been used for this recipe. But very simple and basic spreads, butter, green chutney, and tomato ketchup. However, make sure to use green chutney with correct consistency. If the green chutney is not thick and spreadable, it will make the sandwich soggy and tough to handle.
Stuffing: A pinwheel can’t get simpler. I have used grated processed cheese. That’s it!
Another pinwheel sandwich is already there on the blog. A sandwich which is an absolute crowd pleaser is pav sandwich. These and many more sandwich recipes in our hot collection of sandwich recipes can be viewed here.
Pin for pinwheel, pin for a picnic (okay that’s pic) still… you can make these sandwiches for a picnic and pack these along with some ice tea and potato chips.
