There is something about winters. The food is more appetizing. The even simple hot meal is satiating. The meal idea I am sharing is very easy and simple to make and can be put together in an hour or so. The meal includes dal fry, missi roti and tamatar dhaniya ka shorba.
Something absolutely indispensable during winters is a bowl of hot soup. In this meal I am sharing the recipe for tamatar dhaniya ka shorba which is one of my favourite soups. Another recipe shared is that of dal fry and an interesting thing about dal fry is that it is one of the staple foods of Indian households as well as one of the most ordered foods at the restaurants and dhabas. To accompany dal fry I have included missi roti which is simple chapatti with lots of added flavours.
First things first! Tamatar dhaniya shorba is tangy and flavourful Indian soup with the distinct flavour of coriander combined with the most common one that is tomatoes. All the flavours so perfectly balanced and compliment each other!

Dal infused with the flavours of onion, tomatoes, ginger, green chillies, garlic, dry fenugreek leaves, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, fresh coriander leaves, lemon juice! That’s too much for dal, but that’s dal fry for you!

After making missi roti for the first time I was wandering why I had not made it yet. It is so easy and simple to prepare and enhances the charm of the meal.
