Cake shake is a milkshake which is smooth and creamy with cake crumbs giving it an awesome and unique texture. For me, cake shake is a recipe using leftover cake. It is drastically simple and such a convenient way to use the leftover cake. Next time to wish birthday to your dear ones, do not get a cake, instead make cake shake and cheers!
As such I like to make cake shake when I have some leftover cake in my refrigerator, but its taste and consistency is something we want to indulge into more often and therefore I end up buying a cake for making cake shake. Certainly, any cakes can be used but my personal favorite is an egg-less vanilla sponge cake. However, in this recipe I have used an egg-less chocolate truffle cake I made for my daughter’s birthday. (It was a slime themed cake for my slime queen.)Chilled milk and few sprinkles, that’s it! Believe me, you will not miss ice cream in this shake, because the cake takes care of awesome smoothness and creaminess of the milkshake. No extra sugar is needed, however, you can taste and adjust the same or add in sugar syrup.
Milkshakes are very convenient to make and can be prepared at any time of the day. Therefore, we have a collection of milkshake recipes which you can find here. Leftover cakes can be used not only to make shakes but also cake pops, custard trifle, etc.
Serve cake shake along with pinwheel sandwich for a weekday breakfast.
1.This recipe serves 2 persons.
2.Put 2 cake slices in the blender. And blend it. Blend it absolutely fine if you like the shake smooth. However, blend it coarsely if you like some texture in your cake.
3.Add in 2 cups of chilled milk.
4.Blend well. Taste and if required add sugar syrup or sugar as per taste.
5.Add in few ice cubes and top with sprinkles. Serve chilled.
Tips:You can also top the milkshake with some cake crumbs. I too did that but they sank inside.
