A simple vegetable sandwich made special with smooth green chutney, sandwich masala, fine namkeen (0 number ki sev)… mostly served by the street vendors, not just in Mumbai f.k.a. Bombay Veg Sandwich is a simple sandwich with two special ingredients i.e. the green chutney (Mumbai roadside Style) and the Bombay Sandwich Masala. Onion, tomato, cucumber, potatoes, and beetroot are the vegetables used to make Bombay Veg. Sandwich. I have not seen street vendors or internet using any other vegetables. Very fresh and soft bread is needed to make Bombay Veg Sandwich.

1. First, make the Bombay Sandwich Masala : For that collect the ingredients i.e. 2 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp fennel seeds, 1 star anise, 10 whole black pepper, 2 cloves and 1/2″ cinnamon stick.
2. Dry roast them till aromatic.
3. Grind them.
4. And make a fine powder. Keep aside till further use.
5. Take 2 slices of bread.
6. Apply butter on them.
7. Apply green chutney.
8. Add few cucumber slices.
9. Add onion slices.
10. Add tomato slices.
11. Add potato slices.
12. Add beet root slices.
13. Sprinkle some Bombay sandwich masala.
14. Sprinkle some chaat masala.
15. Sprinkle black salt.
16. Cover with another buttered slice.
17. Cut into 4/6/8 pieces and garnish some fine namkeen.
18. Drizzle tomato ketchup.
