The mother’s heart is the child’s schoolroom.

True that! And there are plenty of reasons for this. Major, if I can say, their lunch box or tiffin! Schools have long durations and call for a meal. Between “a glass of milk or little something that a kid might have had before leaving for school” till “lunch”, it is important that he/she eats something properly. I have already shared quite some tips and tricks and things to be kept in mind in my Kids Tiffin Recipes post, that would ensure that kids finish their tiffin. Taking all the points into consideration, here is a weekly kids tiffin planner.

Well begun is half done and therefore it is important to start off the week of our little ones with something tempting, yet healthy. Sooji balls, as the name suggests are made with semolina and are steamed to cook. Both the ingredients and method of cooking are healthy and the result is engaging. Pack a banana with sooji balls and the tiffin is ready.

I love to pack dhokla for my kids’ tiffin because dhoklas don’t become dry or soggy. It maintains its texture. Dhokla just needs to be paired with tomato ketchup or green chutney. Moong dal dhokla is an easy and tasty way to add moong dal in your kids’ diet, as kids generally don’t relish dals much. Pack a small bottle of chach and the tiffin is ready.

Drizzle little ketchup on the paratha and just roll it and pack in food wrap securing with a toothpick, even if your kid doesn’t like this paratha it will be over. Finger food is not only kids’ favorite but also much convenient to eat. Peel and pack an orange with stuffed bathua paratha and the tiffin is ready.

Well, this used to be one of my favorite tiffins. However, if you plan to make namkeen chawal for your kids’ dabba, you should make rice a night before and refrigerate the same. Otherwise whenever during the week you have some leftover rice make namkeen chawal. Pack a small box of moth salad and the tiffin is ready. (The moth salad can also be garnished on namkeen rice.)

TGIF! Your little one should know that the week has or is coming to an end. And to celebrate the same let’s pack a delicious and different sandwich, pav sandwich! You can customize it with your choice of vegetables. Pack a small box of puffed rice namkeen and the tiffin is ready.

Ever since I found vermicelli made with durum wheat or semolina, I love to make vermicelli pulao. Vegetables not only add nutrients to the dish but also introduce colors in it, and “colors” is a trap, believe me! Pack a piece of cake with vermicelli pulao and the tiffin is ready.
